NOTES FEOM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 A brilliant ruby red color;

👃🏻 on the nose the sweet and pulpy red fruit (cherry above all) marries with sweet and vanilla spices, along with balsamic notes;

👄 in the mouth it is soft, round and full-bodied, characterized by a smooth and elegant tannin; a decidedly pleasant red with a medium alcohol content.

FOOD PAIRINGS

This Valpolicella "Case Vecie" recalls the entire territory in the glass; it is a fresh and intense wine that prefers full-bodied dishes. It goes perfectly with first courses with meat sauces, stews and braised meats with polenta, game, sliced beef with porcini mushrooms, lamb ribs and medium-aged cheeses.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

A blend of corvina, corvinone and rondinella grown at 450 meters above sea level and harvested in early October, by hand with selection of the bunches. It takes its name from the Grezzana vineyard of the same name, where the ripening of the grapes is subject to significant temperature variations between day and night. The red vinification guarantees the contact of the skins for the entire fermentation process and the extraction of the color is guaranteed by two daily pumping overs and a mid-fermentation delestage. The temperature during the entire fermentation process is kept at around 22-24° to favor the preservation of the delicate and fresh aromas. Ageing of about one year in large wood.

YOU'LL LOVE IT FOR...

its pleasantness.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in Valpolicella region, in the province of Verona between hills and valleys north of the city of Verona, in Veneto. It extends from the Adige river valley on its western side to the volcanic territories of the Soave production area in the east. Valpolicella is a controlled denomination of origin area (DOC - DOCG) and includes 3 sub-areas: Valpolicella Classica, Valpantena, Estesa. The landscape is extremely rich thanks to the presence of a morphologically varied territory which can be divided into three macro-areas: the calcareous mountain area, formed by the Lessini Mountains; the hilly area, which hosts a large part of the planted area and vineyards; the valley floor area.

Consisting of valleys that develop in a north-south direction, Valpolicella is ideally presented as a range of valleys starting from Verona. The landscape is mainly hilly, with gentle slopes and watersheds at low altitudes, and is dominated almost everywhere by vineyards, interspersed with olive and cherry trees.

The geological and climatic characteristics of the territory, unique and varied, are the basis of the great particularity and typicality of its wines.

WINERY

The Brigaldara winery is located near the village of San Floriano, among the gentle hills of Valpolicella. The property is completely immersed in a natural park, among centuries-old woods, vineyards and olive groves.

The vineyards are cultivated in the Marano valley, one of the valleys of the Classic area of Valpolicella. The company is one of the most interesting from a qualitative point of view of the entire denomination. The wines produced are typical expressions of the Valpolicella area, faithful to the centuries-old history of the winemaking traditions of the Verona area and to the native vines of the area.
