NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 straw yellow with greenish shades;

👃🏻 the nose expresses an important mineral bouquet, with citrus and spicy notes and smoky hints in the background;

👄 on the palate it has excellent freshness and body, leaving a long and elegant mineral memory.

RECOMMENDED COMBINATION

This Timorgasso is striking for its intensity and mineral character, made from grapes grown in the Sermona area, in the municipality of Gavi, from marl and limestone soils. It prefers full-bodied, intense and fragrant dishes. Excellent in combination with dishes based on fish, molluscs and crustaceans, but also poultry and vegetable first courses in elaborate preparations.

REFINEMENT

Pure Timorasso harvested by hand. Soft pressing of destemmed grapes cooled in the cell for 12 hours, fermentation in steel. Refines in steel for 9 months, and in bottle for a further 18.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

his freshness.

TERRITORY OF ORIGIN

TERROR

The area is Monferrato, one of the most important wine regions in the world, a UNESCO heritage site. Among these suggestive hills Barbera is produced, a truly extraordinary, versatile and fresh vine. In Monferrato the vineyards almost entirely cover the tops and slopes of the hills, alternating with small woods, in highly evocative landscapes. The wide diversity of the soils allows us to produce very complex wines, with a broad bouquet. The lands are calcareous-marly , white, light gray or beige in colour, rich Of calcium carbonate : this allows the production of full-bodied wines, rich in color (in reds), sometimes with a hint of tuff , from aging ; the red soils, on the other hand, are deeper and richer not only in clay and silt, but also in iron and magnesium oxides, and are excellent for producing white wines. The sands of Asti produce excellent red wines characterized by low acidity and fast maturation. Finally, on these soils, in very dry years the vine can suffer problems of water stress, since the higher percentage of sand does not allow the soil to retain water.

CELLAR

Located among the hills of Alto Monferrato, in Piedmont, the Azienda Agricola Morgassi Superiore was founded in 1993 by Marino Piacitelli and produces the great classics of the area: Gavi DOCG and Monferrato DOC.
The vineyards of the Morgassi Superiore winery extend over steep hills with calcareous and clayey soil, dedicated to Cortese and Timorasso, with which they produce typical, quality wines.
Today Marino's daughters, Marina and Cecilia, lead the small Gavi company: they make wine by choice and passion, passing down traditions that are intertwined with the fresh breath of innovation and technology in the cellar, thanks to a sophisticated laboratory, environments controlled temperature, stainless steel tanks and modern bottling lines.
Morgassi Superiore wines express not only the terroir, but also the research and technology to create original wines with a strong personality.
