NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a clear ruby red;

👃🏻 on the nose, a fruity bouquet emerges, with small red fruits (cherry above all) and floral notes of violets and roses;

👄 on the palate it is pleasantly drinkable, full-bodied, soft and rounded, with a pleasantly almondy finish.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Beverino and very pleasant, it is perfect with food that is not too structured, such as first courses of earthy cuisine. Also perfect with delicate cheeses and white meats. We recommend it with risotto with chanterelles.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

This label is a production line of the Rottensteiner family, through which certain batches of grapes of particular quality are selected and vinified separately. It covers different types and among them, local ones such as Sylvaner, St. Magdalener and Lagrein. The St. Magdalener hill (a sub-zone of the DOC Südtirol Alto Adige) is in fact particularly suited to viticulture and in fact one of the best winegrowing areas in South Tyrol. The lagrein and schiava nera grapes are fermented together: one part of the wine matures in large wooden barrels, another in stainless steel and then matures in the bottle.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

its pleasantness and drinkability.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in Alto Adige, an area highly suited for the production of white and red wines. The Alto Adige vineyards are located at altitudes between 200 and 1000 metres and the vines grow on very different soils. The autochthonous Lagrein variety, for example, prefers warm gravelly or sandy soils, while the local Gewürztraminer grape variety is at its best on clay and very calcareous soils.

Unique are the stony soils of dolomitic limestone, which are especially widespread in the southern offshoots of the Wine Route and originate from the famous Dolomite mountain massif, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thanks to their mineral characteristics, these warm and very permeable soils are especially ideal for producing full-bodied, strong-tasting white wines.

WINERY

Cabernet, Lagrein, Blauburgunder, Müller Thurgau, Gewürztraminer, Goldmuskateller, Lagrein Kretzer, Rulander, St. Magdalener, Sylvaner, Weissburgunder: in these wines, native South Tyrolean grape varieties are united with four international grape varieties that have found a second home in South Tyrol. And this gives rise to unique labels, wines that profoundly express their terroir.

What unites the 224 members of Cantina Bolzano is their love of wine and their land, united in the high quality standards they achieve.
