NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful straw yellow with greenish reflections;

👃🏻 the nose expresses fruity hints of citrus, peach and apple; closes with notes of chamomile;

👄 on the palate it reveals a fresh, savory white with good persistence. Strong impression and perfect taste-olfactory correspondence.

RECOMMENDED COMBINATION

A fun and carefree Arneis, which accompanies any meal with pleasure: fish or land starters, meat or fish first courses, fish second courses or even vegetarian dishes such as courgette pie.

REFINEMENT

The Roero Arneis "Malinat" from the Pinsoglio company is obtained from Arneis grapes, a native white grape variety from Piedmont, whose origins seem linked, since the fifteenth century, to Roero, today its land of choice. After fermentation in steel tanks, the wine is matured, again in stainless steel, until March-April following the harvest and then bottled.

Malinat remembers when the Pinsoglio family purchased the first Arneis vineyard with Tommaso Malinat.

TERRITORY OF ORIGIN

TERROR

The company is located in Canale, the focal center of Roero, in the hamlet of Madonna dei Cavalli. This territory dates back to the Pliocene period and is mainly made up of sands of marine origin and the Roero grey-blue clays. On 22 June 2014 it became part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is a land of ancient winemaking traditions, where wine was already known before the arrival of the Romans. The Empire made great contributions to viticulture, including the deforestation of much of the Langhe, then covered in dense forest. The Langhe is divided into Alta and Bassa Langa: the latter is located to the north between the Tanaro and Belbo rivers and is recognized throughout the world for prestigious wines such as Barolo and Barbaresco as well as Pelaverga, Dolcetto d'Alba and Dogliani to Nebbiolo and Barbera. The Alta Langa, on the other hand, is located further south and has steeper hills that reach up to 750 m; Alta Langa, Moscato and Barbera and the rare Timorasso are produced here. In particular, the Alta Langa, thanks to the cultivation of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir over the years, has managed to produce classic method and Charmat sparkling wines renowned on the national and international scene. The soils of the Langhe are composed of sedimentary clay-limestone marl , interspersed with layers of more or less important grey-blue marl, an important characteristic for producing both full-bodied red wines and fresh, fragrant bubbles. The Langhe area is characterized by a temperate continental climate, with the peak of rainfall generally set during the month of May.

CELLAR

We are in Roero, a region of Piedmont located in the north-eastern part of the province of Cuneo.

The company, founded by Oreste Pinsoglio in the sixties. The turning point in quality occurred in 1997, the year in which Oreste's son, Fabrizio, decided to change the company footprint, the type of processing in the vineyard and the organization of the cellar.

Today they cultivate eight hectares of vineyards from which six labels are born, intimately linked to the Roero territory, whose distinctive traits they reflect. In this sense, the type and position of the vineyards are decisive.

The Pinsoglio company is one of the most interesting wineries in the province of Cuneo and its wines are fully representative of the production excellence of the Piedmont region.
