NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 bright pale yellow with golden reflections;

👃🏻 the nose is dominated by hints of white peach and citrus, sweet flowers, with a finish that recalls hydrocarbons;

👄 on the palate it is soft, with a great flavor, seasoned with a sober but effective residual sugar. An exceptional Riesling.

FOOD PAIRINGS

This Riesling can age up to 15/20 years and expresses a unique minerality. It is a masterful wine, which can accompany the vast majority of fresh and fish-based dishes. Some recommended combinations? It is perfect to pair with spicy white fish first courses, fresh goat cheese, croutons and aperitifs.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

A 100% Riesling that contains the essence of this extraordinary grape. The harvest is strictly manual, followed by a soft crushing-destemming. Fermentation is in steel at a controlled temperature. The refinement is always in steel to better preserve the characteristics of the grapes. The resulting naturalness of the sip leads to the bottle being finished in the blink of an eye.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

its minerality and character.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

If there is a wine region that has made Germany famous for its wine production all over the world, it is certainly the Mosel. Also known as Mosel-Saar-Ruwer and the home of choice for Riesling, the Mosel offers one of the most fascinating wine-growing landscapes in the world due to the often difficult environmental conditions and represents an avant-garde area from a production point of view, thanks to a movement of young wine producers which invests in an alternative approach in the vineyard and in the cellar. It is precisely here that Germany saw the dawn of its viticulture, thanks to the Romans who planted vines for the production of wine for the troops, since transport from Italy would have represented an excessive cost.
Even today, the best wines of the entire country come from this area. The continental climate and cold temperatures meant that the best vineyards were located close to the river - a fact that prevents frosts, releasing the accumulated heat in the colder seasons. This makes the Mosel vineyard one of the most fascinating in the world, with steep and steep soils on the edges of the river with vertiginous slopes that undoubtedly place the viticulture of this area among those defined as heroic. In this fascinating land torn from the rock, even the soil reveals a unique nature: on the one hand the volcanic composition, which also allowed the maintenance of ungrafted vines, on the other the schist stratification of different types of slate, capable of storing heat which is returned to the plants.

WINERY

The winery is located in Erden, on the banks of the Moselle, a historic area of Germany, which produces wonderful Rieslings. This ancient winery dates back to the thirteenth century and boasts a long winemaking tradition, producing not only excellent wines but also spirits and liqueurs. The vinification is scrupulous and characterized by a natural pre-clarification and fermentation at the correct temperature, to obtain complex, long-lived and elegant wines.
Their most important vineyards are three and rise on the banks of the Mosel river, characterized by different soils and microclimates. The Erdener Prälat vineyard is a narrow strip of land, which gives the wines great minerality, arranged on steep terraces that enjoy a wonderful exposure which is reflected in the extraordinarily early ripening grapes. Erdener Treppchen is located downstream of the Mosel on rocky areas of blue slate and enhances the elegant and fruity aromas of Riesling. The Wehelener Sonnenuhr vineyard is instead located in the most favorably exposed area of the slope, bordering the Moselle river, and is recognized all over the world for creating wines with the finest expression of personality and mineral tones of indisputable elegance.
