NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful straw yellow;

👃🏻 on the nose it expresses intense sensations of yeast, brioche, floral like broom and lily, ripe yellow fruit and hints of anise and elderberry;

👄 in the mouth it is full, fresh and well structured, persistent and with a savory finish.

RECOMMENDED COMBINATION

Structured wine to pair with succulent first courses such as the traditional Macertese vincisgrassi, fish broth and structured second courses, or the traditional baked turbot.

REFINEMENT

Manual harvest and careful selection of the grapes, coming from a small plot; destemming-crushing; part of the must kept in contact with the skins for a few hours. This is followed by cold enzymatic clarification and fermentation at a controlled temperature in steel at 14° C. The first year remains in refinement on the fine lees in the tank with monthly batonage. The following autumn it is decanted into medium-sized oak barrels until the following spring, followed by bottling.

TERRITORY OF ORIGIN

TERROR

We are in the province of Macerata. These are lands that are still little urbanized and of rare beauty, where the vine has found a fertile home and speaks a plural language: the varieties indigenous white berry like trebbiano , la little pussy and the found pecorino cheese coexist with the delicate rusticity of red Sangiovese and the vigorous strength of black Montepulciano. From the blend of the former comes the Falerio and the latter the Rosso Piceno Superiore, the wines of the territorial tradition that today coexist with the Offida DOCG and the happy and appreciated single-variety interpretations.
Among the first terroirs to convert into organic much of the land dedicated to vineyards (and not only), agricultural work respecting nature has always been one of the fundamental aspects for the quality of the wines of the Piceno hills. Here the climate is continental, characterized by cold winters and very hot summers, in which the clayey soils express their maximum potential.

CELLAR

The company is located in Potenza Picena, in the province of Macerata, a historic town with a high vocation for the cultivation of grapes and olive trees. The company extends over approximately 160 hectares of which 40 are vineyards, 40 are olive groves and the remaining are herbaceous cultivation. The soil has a medium-textured texture tending towards sandy with a slight hillside position overlooking the Adriatic Sea, so as to be favored by the brightness and heat of the sun which are the best conditions for the growth of the vine.

The white grape varieties grown: Ribona, Passerina, Chardonnay, Pinot grigio; red grape: Montepulciano, Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. The average grape production per hectare is approximately 80 quintals, i.e. approximately two kilos per plant in order to obtain high quality wines. The generosity of the land is followed by the scrupulous care and twenty years of experience of the winery which places the utmost attention in the phases of pruning, cultivation of the land, harvesting and cellar operations.
