NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful deep ruby red;

👃🏻 on the nose it expresses a fruity bouquet (berries), spices and ethereal sensations deriving from ageing in wood

👄 on the palate it is a full-bodied, harmonious wine with a good persistence.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Rebo Diana is a very persistent wine with a high alcohol content. It is well suited to be tasted with dishes endowed with succulence, persistence and taste-olfactory intensity. Try it with main courses of beef and pork, baked lasagne and mature cheeses.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

The wine comes from a pure expression of the Rebo vine, whose grapes are grown in white, arid soils of glacial morainic origin with a high presence of silt, which makes the soil well drained, at an altitude of 380 metres above sea level, with optimal exposure to the south and south-west. Traditional red vinification at controlled temperature, 8-9 days of maceration with frequent pumping over and punching down. Once the vinification process is complete, the maturation of Rebo "Diana" takes place in steel.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR

its intensity, structure and tannin.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

The company is located in Gavardo, in the Lake Garda area. Here viticulture has ancient origins. The presence of vines on the hills of Lake Garda has been reported since the Bronze Age. The Romans produced wine in the various rural villas whose remains have been found in various parts of the lake (Sirmione, Desenzano). Wine production, along with oil production, continued in the Middle Ages in the monasteries that sprang up around the lake. Today, well-tended vineyards and olive groves characterise the landscape of the hills surrounding the coast. Bardolino, lugana, custoza and rebo are cultivated here.

The southern part of Lake Garda is characterised by the gentle hills of the morainic amphitheatre that embraces the coast from east to west. These are the reliefs formed by the accumulation of debris carried by the glacier that gave life to the lake during the glaciations. Parallel to Lake Garda runs the valley of the Adige River, squeezed between mountains that rise higher and higher as one proceeds northwards. The sandy valley floor and slopes have always been an area of wine production with the DOC Terra dei Forti on Veneto territory and Valdadige on the other side of the Trentino border. Some oenological gems can be found here, such as the extremely rare Enantio or Marzemino, sung by Mozart in Le Nozze di Figaro. Further north, however, there are great whites based on Muller Thurgau, Pinot Grigio and renowned Metodo Classico sparkling wines.

WINERY

In the 1960s, from an initiative of Peppino and Ninì Trevisani, the winery of the same name was founded in Lombardy on the Brescia side of Lake Garda. Right from the start, the Trevisani winery positioned itself as a non-conformist, an innovator with respect to the area's wine-growing tradition; in fact, the vines were unusual both for the time and for the territory: varieties such as Rhine Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine cellar fully meets the definition of an artisanal producer: the vineyards extend over just 5 hectares, distributed in the municipalities of Salò, Soprazocco and Puegnago del Garda, where the vines are cultivated in soils characterised by a prevalence of moraine and glacial, with a high presence of sand and silt, all characteristics that are particularly suitable for the cultivation of grapes that produce expressive, high quality wines. There is a great variety of wines: from the Metodo Classico Talento Brut "Galuzzo" to the Garda Rosé Brut, from the "Berzamina" to the Rebo expressions "Diana" and "Benacus", to close with the still Garda expressions of Chardonnay "Balì", Merlot "Suer" and Cabernet Sauvignon "Due Querce".
