NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS
👁 bright ruby red;
👃🏻 on the nose it expresses clear hints of red and black berries, together with a floral note of violets;
👄 on the palate it has good structure and excellent balance. Elegant and very pleasant, with a slightly spicy finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
A red wine to be enjoyed without delay, which goes well with first courses and red meat, as well as with grilled fish, due to its particular drinkability and pleasant smoothness. For a territorial suggestion, it is perfect with vincisgrassi.
WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT
The winery chooses steel to age this Sangiovese, with the aim of obtaining a wine that is easy to drink and fully expressive of the terroir and the grape variety.
YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...
its drinkability.
ORIGIN
TERROIR
We are in Offida. These are lands of rare beauty, where the vine has found a fertile home and speaks a plural language: native white varieties such as Trebbiano, Passerina and the rediscovered Pecorino coexist with the delicate rusticity of the red Sangiovese and the vigorous strength of the black Montepulciano.
From the blend of the former comes Falerio and from the latter Rosso Piceno Superiore, both wines with a strong territorial vocation that today coexist with Offida DOCG and interesting single-varietal interpretations.
The area is characterised by an early conversion to organic farming of most of the land dedicated to vineyards and more, with farm work deeply oriented towards respect for nature: all this determines the quality of the wines of the Piceno hills. Here the climate is continental, characterised by cold winters and hot summers; the clay soils express their full potential.
WINERY
Poderi San Lazzaro is a family-run winery in the municipality of Offida, in the heart of Rosso Piceno Superiore.Founded in 2003 by Paolo Capriotti and Elisetta Carosi, the estate covers 15 hectares under vine. The aim is always the highest quality, respecting the environment and the natural rhythms of the vineyard. They have chosen organic in the vineyard, while in the cellar they work with little intervention, to express in their wines the identity of the land and the vine.
The vineyards are 15 kilometres from the Adriatic Sea and a little over 20 from the Apennines, and the plants grow at about 300 metres above sea level, enjoying excellent exposures and a microclimate suited to viticulture. They cultivate Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Passerina and Pecorino, interpreted at their best without distorting their characteristics. They follow each step in the cellar with care thanks to the contained and functional spaces. The result is excellent wines, among the best in the region, straightforward, without frills, of the highest quality.
