NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 of a bright straw yellow;

👃🏻 on the nose the bouquet is intense, very floral and fruity: jasmine, pear, citrus fruits and an almond note;

👄 on the palate it is an enveloping, structured, fresh and savory wine, with a return to the mouth of the fruity notes recognized on the nose.

PAIRINGS

This Pinot Grigio is a structured white that goes well with first courses, white meats, fish in even important preparations. But a glass should be tasted alone.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

Pinot Gris - which grows on a vineyard located in San Martino al Tagliamento at about 100 meters above sea level, of alluvial origin and with clayey gravelly soil, destined for the more aromatic wines of the estate - harvested in mid-September by hand with selection of the bunches in the vineyard, vinified in steel at a controlled temperature for 20 days. Aged in steel in contact with the fine lees for 10 months.

YOU'LL LOVE IT FOR...

its strong character.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

The winery is located in Friuli Venezia Giulia, in San Martino al Tagliamento, in the province of Pordenone.

The wines produced in this area are the result of a unique terroir. The optimal soil and climatic conditions have allowed the cultivation of autochthonous vines, born in the Colli Orientali and cultivated here since time immemorial, as well as other varieties from different European areas, which have adapted perfectly here, achieving considerable results in terms of quality.

The Friuli Colli Orientali production, strictly limited in terms of quantity, is characterized by manual harvesting and the discreet use of the most modern oenological techniques; tradition and modernity come together to maintain the integrity of the product, guarantee a high quality standard and above all give unique sensations to the taste thanks to the secular and happy interaction between man-vine-territory.

The native vines grown in the area are Malvasia, Picolit, Pignolo, Refosco dal peduncolo rosso, Ribolla Gialla, Schioppettino, Tazzalenghe, Tocai Friuli and Verduzzo Friuli. Some boast over two thousand years of recorded history, dating back to Roman times.

WINERY

The winery is set in San Martino al Tagliamento. The origins of the estate date back to 1687 and testify to the deep attachment of the Pinni family to their land: a long history linked to viticulture. Roberto and Tommaso Pinni personally follow the care of the vineyards and the winemaking process by applying two principles that are essential for them: respect for the environment and the pursuit of qualitative excellence in their wines.

The conviction that to obtain a great wine it is necessary to work meticulously in the vineyard is demonstrated by the low yields per vine, which allows for a reduction in the number of pesticides and to obtain grapes rich in flavors and aromas.

Pinni cultivates the typical grapes of the area: chardonnay, sauvignon, tocai friulano and pinot gris (white berried), while for the reds cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and refosco dal peduncolo rosso.

Their wines are characterized by the vinification of these varieties in purity, to fully express the potential of each grape variety. The wines of Tenuta Pinni are extraordinary tools for getting to know the unique terroir of Friuli. And it does so with a respectful approach. In fact, Tenuta Pinni adheres to the integrated pest management protocol for the defense of the vine: wise use of nutrients and accurate control of weeds thanks to a modern electrostatic distribution system, limited use of plant protection products. All the vineyards on the estate are irrigated with an underground dripline managed by computers that control irrigation and fertigation, dividing it according to the type of soil. By limiting the waste of water, they achieve perfect growth of the vine and ripening of the grapes, minimizing the use of plant protection products.
