NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful straw yellow;

👃🏻 on the nose it stands out for its delicate bouquet, especially floral with intriguing fruity notes (apple, citrus);

👄 on the palate it is pleasant and elegant, delicate and very characteristic, with a nice fresh and savoury vein. Excellent drinkability.

FOOD PAIRINGS

A delicate and very versatile white wine for pairing, which can accompany everything from starters to first or second courses, especially fish dishes. A tip? Try it with omelette with peas.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

Manual harvesting of grapes grown according to biodynamic principles, with total respect for the environment and the product. Working in steel, to allow the vine to express itself in its purest expression. Grape in the Romagnolo dialect means 'debt payer', and this is the local name given to the white bombino. Due to its particular characteristics of resistance to climatic adversity, it was so called because it allowed farmers to make a secure profit.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

drinkability.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in the province of Forlì Cesena, which includes territories with a high wine vocation in Romagna. This is the main area for sangiovese, albana, trebbiano romagnolo, pagadebit (bombino bianco) and teran. There are two main areas: a pre-hilly area, extending from the slopes of the last hill formations of the Apennines to the Via Emilia, and a purely hilly area.

These areas can be found in the province of Forlì-Cesena:

Serra, which enjoys a continental climate that is little mitigated by the considerable distance from the sea (the wines express delicate floral and fresh fruity notes)

Modigliana, where the terrain steepens further allowing the production of wines with a decisive structure, powerful, austere and long-lived.

Castrocaro-Terra del Sole, lands of 'Tuscan Romagna'.

Predappio, where Sangiovese (fruity and with rather austere tannins) reigns supreme.

Bertinoro, where Albana is queen.

Cesena, with fruity, structured and elegant Sangiovese.

San Vicinio, the area most suited to Sangiovese, with very balanced wines.

Longiano, with important and rich wines, with evident fruitiness and good structure.

WINERY

We are in Mercato Saraceno, in the Upper Savio Valley, on the first hills of Cesena, in the heart of rural Romagna. The Santa Lucia Estate was founded in the 1960s by Paride Benedetti and his wife Assunta, with about 18 vineyards. At the end of the 1990s, the estate started a turning point and began to focus more and more on quality, on biodynamic (Demeter certified) and on the relationship with the land, with native grape varieties that are the princes of the area such as sangiovese and albana, but also the much lesser-known famous, rebola, pagadebit and centesimino.
