👁 of a beautiful straw yellow with greenish reflections;

👃🏻 the nose is expressed with a rich fruity bouquet, notes of red apple, walnut, citrus fruit and hazelnut but also anise and fennel;

👄 on the palate it has excellent freshness, it's fine and mineral. Very pleasant.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Excellent as an aperitif, it goes divinely with fish appetizers: try it with shellfish.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

The neuburger is a variety that has found optimal conditions in Austria, in particular in the Vienna area where the Fuhrgassl Huber winery is located. Vinification in steel to preserve the varietal characteristics as much as possible, for a fragrant and pleasant wine.

YOU'LL LOVE IT...

its freshness.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in Austria, which in the last 20 years has been able to build a solid reputation as a producing country strongly oriented towards quality by exploiting the great potential of its terroir, in which the white grape varieties are able to express their varietal notes very well. The climate is predominantly continental and cold in the northern regions, but almost Mediterranean in the southern ones. Compared to Germany, the average temperatures are considerably higher and allow for the production of hotter and more robust wines but less rich in sugar. We are in the Thermregion: here grape varieties such as Zierfandel and Rotgipfler are grown. In the north-eastern part of this region, the clayey-limestone soils favor the cultivation of white grape varieties, especially Welschriesling and Weissburgunder, while in the southern plain of Steinfeld, the alluvial stones allow a better expression of the black grape varieties, such as for example the blauer portugieser.

Austria today boasts a wine-growing area of almost 50,000 hectares, cultivated by over 32,000 winemakers who produce, overall, over 2 million hectoliters of wine. Suitable, due to its microclimate, above all for the production of white wines, such as Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Traminer and Pinot blanc. It also makes excellent straw wines, especially in Burgeland, and wonderful Eisweins, especially north of Vienna. Vienna in particular has 600 hectares of vineyards located in the hilly areas of the city.

WINERY

The Fuhrgassl Huber winery was founded in the 1970s, in Austria, in Neustift am Walde, on the edge of the city of Vienna, by Ernst Huber and his wife Gerti, taking up a family tradition that began in the seventeenth century. The company is family run and today is led by his nephew Thomas Huber, who cultivates 31 hectares with the typical varieties of the area such as neuburger, rheinriesling and gruner veltriner. The very cool climate of the area and the particular composition of the soils favor the production of wines with marked acidity and a mineral stamp. The Fuhrgassl Huber winery enhances the territory with wines produced from the parcels in which the most suitable grapes are planted to express the character of each variety. The cellar is characterized by the constant search for quality which is concentrated in a small number of bottles.
