NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful straw yellow with greenish reflections;

👃🏻 the nose has a fine, elegant bouquet; it is aromatic, with a fine, fruity bouquet, dominated by apple and banana

👄 on the palate it is dry and dominated by fruit, very elegant, with excellent freshness and great character. The freshness, savouriness and minerality deriving from the porphyritic soils are accompanied by the elegant aromaticity, reminiscent of citrus fruits and the characteristic scent of sage.

FOOD PAIRINGS

A versatile white that expresses a unique fragrance, which is why it prefers fresh, light dishes. Perfect with savoury pies, vegetable starters and fried food.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

Strictly manual harvesting, soft pressing, fermentation at controlled temperature with only selected yeasts, maturation in stainless steel for 6 months and bottle ageing for at least 2 months. A Müller Thurgau that derives its unmistakable imprint from the volcanic soils of Val di Cembra, where it finds one of its most typical expressions.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

its freshness.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in the Trento DOC territory, home of renowned bubbles, which is distinguished by elegant wines that express a unique concept of territoriality. The success and uniqueness of Trento DOC sparkling wine is due precisely to the characteristics of the territory: the combination of climate, different altitudes, soils and Trentino savoir faire make Trento DOC not just a simple sparkling wine, but a highly prized mountain sparkling wine that is increasingly recognised and rewarded. The Trentino territory, although small, is covered by 10,000 hectares of vines with a percentage of grapes destined for sparkling wine production of 8% and a total production of 7 million bottles per year.

In addition to its Trento DOC bubbles, the area is famous for its elegant white wines, typical of high-altitude territories. Here, altitude plays a fundamental role in the quality of the wine in the glass. The vineyards are located at an altitude of between 200 and 900 metres above sea level, in an environment with climates characterised by strong daily temperature fluctuations that give the grapes aromatic complexity, elegance and freshness. In addition, the drainage and aeration conditions of the Trentino soil give the wine greater taste complexity.

The vines can enjoy different climates here: from a mountain microclimate to the milder climate of Lake Garda. Factors such as the altitude of the vineyard and the temperature range play an important role in the ripening of the grapes, influencing the organoleptic characteristics of the wines. The varieties cultivated for Trento DOC sparkling wine are chardonnay and pinot noir. The area of organic vineyards in Trentino is constantly increasing, a natural consequence of the attention and responsibility of sparkling wine producers towards the wholesomeness of their products.

WINERY

Alfio Nicolodi is a passionate promoter of viticulture in the Cembra Valley and of mountain viticulture in a broader sense.

Here we speak of true heroic viticulture. The slopes are prohibitively steep and the terrain so impervious that machines can rarely be used: winegrowers like Alfio literally have to climb them. That is why in this area the most evocative symbol of viticulture is toil, which in the past was also linked to misery. The winery was founded by his grandfather at the beginning of the 20th century, but the turning point is due to Alfio, who in not even 2 hectares under vine has changed the planting and vinification, carefully following the entire production phase.

With enthusiasm and great stubbornness, Alfio has brought back to production two rare grape varieties from the valley: Lagarino Bianco and Veltliner Rosso.
