NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 transparent ruby red, with brown reflections;

👃🏻 the nose is fine, elegant and intense, and expresses fruity notes (especially strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, cherries and currants); but also hay and aromatic herbs, undergrowth, with gentle notes of white pepper and cloves;

👄 on the palate it is expressed with a nice acidity, with smooth tannins. Soft, full-bodied, with a juicy sip and a long, warm finish.

FOOD PAIRINGS

This red is characterized by excellent balance, and goes well with mushroom risotto. For a vegan combination, try it with grilled vegetables and for a more particular pairing, accompany it with salmon.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

Harvest by hand, in the second part of September, from Guyot-trained vineyards with soils characterized by the typical basin and sandstone marl. Maceration with grape skins 30 days; ageing in oak barrels for 18 months.

YOU'LL LOVE IT FOR...

its tannin.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in the Goriška Brda region of Slovenia. This sub-region of Primorje produces a number of wines known worldwide for their distinction and class. A must for anyone visiting the wine region are its superb wines. This is the Slovenian Collio, characterized by soils composed of the famous ponca, a mixture of marl and sandstone.

Here Rebula is mainly produced (Slovenian Ribolla, yellow and green), but also red berried grapes such as Pinot Noir. The sophistication and scope of Goriška Brda are due to the grape varieties, the climate and the savoir faire of the area's winemakers. These elements define a style of wine found nowhere else in Slovenia and the world.

WINERY

The Princic winery is located in the Brda, the Slovenian part of the Gorizia Collio. It has an ancient tradition, handed down from generation to generation, and the first information dates back to the mid-nineteenth century, when Mihael and Katarina began producing quality wines. Since then, the Prinčič winery has been striving to constantly improve its wine, paying close attention to the preservation of local traditions and the quality of the wines. Grandparents leave the baton to Srečkot and Afra, and today the business is run by Tomaž and his wife Andrejka, together with their children Sara and Tinet.

Their vines, which occupy a plot of 9 hectares, dwell on the characteristic Opoka soils which give their wines a unique character. The company's philosophy aims to preserve these characteristics by trying to put the best expressions of nature in the glass.
