NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful intense ruby red;

👃🏻 elegant fruity bouquets of ripe red notes emerge on the nose, such as berries and black cherries followed by elegant notes of eucalyptus;

👄 on the palate it is round and full-bodied, with a fresh taste, smooth tannin and beautiful persistence.

RECOMMENDED COMBINATION

This Merlot is a complex wine , which is recommended to be opened early so that it can express its unique tertiary aromas. He prefers structured dishes with consistency , succulence and intense aromatic persistence. Perfect with mature cheeses and red meat second courses, to try with stewed venison.

REFINEMENT

A pure Merlot grown in the vineyards of Val d'Adige, in Andriano, 320 meters above sea level. From vines grown with the Guyot pruning system in a mixed soil of limestone and porphyry. Obtained from grapes grown according to the principles of certified organic farming, with a yield of 70 quintals per hectare. The grapes are harvested manually and the winemaking takes place in stainless steel, preserving the character of the terroir and the organic grapes, matured and refined in wooden barrels.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

his persistence , intensity and the intriguers tertiary aromas.

TERRITORY OF ORIGIN:

TERROR

The area is Alto Adige, a lot suited for the production of white and red wines.
The vineyards are located at an altitude between 200 and 1000 meters and the vines grow on very different soils. The native lagrein, for example, prefers warm gravelly or sandy soils, while the gewürztraminer expresses its best on clayey and very calcareous soils. The stony soils of dolomitic limestone are unique, especially widespread in the southern reaches of the Wine Route and which originate from the Dolomites, a UNESCO heritage site. Thanks to their mineral characteristics, these warm and very permeable soils are ideal above all for producing full-bodied white wines with a strong flavour.

CELLAR

We are in South Tyrol.

the Stachlburg Winery was founded in 1990 by Sigmund Kripp, still located today at an altitude of 650 meters in the municipality of Partschins.

After completing his studies in Germany, Sigmund decided to take over the family lands, starting the cultivation of the first Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards.

The ideal conditions for the cultivation of these varieties are offered by the warm and sunny slopes, the mild air and the dry climate of the Val Venosta.

The company cultivates just 8 hectares of vineyards, all certified organic.
