NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 Ruby red;

👃🏻 the nose expresses a beautiful intriguing bouquet: cassis, licorice, toasted notes and hints of violet, as well as black cherries, chocolate and aromatic herbs;

👄 on the palate it is fresh, round and full-bodied; intriguing and persistent.

PAIRINGS

A very pleasant Malbec, which expresses the varietal well and goes perfectly with red meat dishes. Ideal for grilled meat, as per the Argentine tradition, and more generally for land-based cuisine.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

A red obtained from pure Malbec grapes. Fermentation at controlled temperature, 18 days of maceration on the skins, nine months of aging in French oak barrels.

YOU'LL LOVE IT FOR...

its pleasantness.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in Argentina, in Mendoza, the largest wine-growing area in Argentina.

This area, located about 1000 km west of Buenos Aires, is the center of the Argentine wine industry and produces 70% of the country's wines.

The climate is hot and dry, rainfall is scarce. The soils are mostly of alluvial, morainic and volcanic origin, tending to be clayey-loamy and endowed with moderate fertility.

The most cultivated vine is undoubtedly Malbec, which gives wines with deep colours, aromas of red fruit, herbaceous and spicy notes and a good tannic structure. Other black grape varieties of the region are cabernet sauvignon, syrah, pinot noir, tempranillo and bonarda. For the white berried varieties, chenin blanc, torrontés, chardonnay and riesling are instead grown.

WINERY

Manos Negras is set in Altamira, in the southern part of the Uco Valley. The winery is the result of the work of four professionals who have decided to come together in a common project, founding "Manos Negras", so called in the belief that true winemakers are those who get their hands dirty.

Jeff Mausbach, who for over ten years has been active with Alejandro Sejanovich directed the Bodega Catena Zapata, met the oenologist Jason Mabbett, professor at the University of Auckland, to whom was added Duncan Killer, one of the leading viticulture experts in the South America.

Manos Negras is based on the profound knowledge of its founders and on their long experience to offer artisanal labels that summarize the truest soul of Argentine enology.

They cultivate pinot noir, malbec and torrontés, from Patagonia, at the southern end of the country, to the areas with a high wine vocation of Salta and Mendoza.

Their wines are the result of shrewd and careful agronomic choices, respectful of the environment, nature, and ecosystems, for a range of excellent wines.
