NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful straw yellow with greenish reflections;

👃🏻 the nose expresses a fruity and floral bouquet, with strong notes of green apple, banana and exotic fruit;

👄 on the palate it is dry, fresh, savory and with good acidity; very elegant.

RECOMMENDED COMBINATION

Intense and decidedly territorial, it goes perfectly from starters to first courses, second courses, especially fish, but also delicate white meats and fresh, soft, stringy cheeses.

REFINEMENT

White vinification with controlled temperature fermentation (at 13°-15° C) for over 30 days in stainless steel. Long aging on the fine lees with batonnage for over 5 months, a fact which guarantees excellent freshness and fragrance to the wine, making it also suitable for long aging in the bottle.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

the intensity.

TERRITORY OF ORIGIN

TERROR

We are in Sannio, one of the areas of Campania historically most suitable for the cultivation of vines. It is located in the north-eastern area of the region, in the province of Benevento. Vine cultivation shapes the entire landscape of the Telesina valley, crossed along its length by the Calore river. Despite the proximity of the sea, the climate is cool and continental with notable temperature variations between day and night.

The wind blows constantly, mainly from the west or east, while the cold currents coming from the north are held back by the Matese mountains. The side of the valley rises more gently towards the massif and in an even more harsh and steep way towards Taburno.

The soils are predominantly clayey-limestone in nature , with the presence of silica and sandstone; in the flat part the soils are mainly of alluvial origin, while going up towards the slopes of the mountains, the presence of skeleton and white calcareous stones increases. However, there is no shortage of areas in which the signs of primordial volcanic activity are evident with outcrops of tuff banks, such as in the Vitulanese, Telesina and Galdina areas.

CELLAR

The Pietreionne winery is located in the municipality of Ponte, a small town in the Sannio area in the province of Benevento, which owes its name to the presence of an imposing Roman bridge "Ad Pontem Lapideum" already present in Roman times over which the Via Latina passed: the road that connected Benevento to Rome.

The company extends over the hills where the greenery of the vineyards is the protagonist. Pietreionne is the ancient name of the locality where the vineyards grown for over 4 generations are located. The local elders attribute to the name the meaning of "round stones" due to the characteristic rounded stones that form the skeleton of the land in this area.

Round stones, sculpted by time into sinuous and harmonious shapes, a symbol of balance. Balance and harmony that the winery seeks in their wines.

The winery is managed by Daniele Giovanni Corbo, a young winemaker deeply attached to his roots, who acquired his father's company, making it the place to make his dreams come true. Since 2015 it has been producing wines with extreme care, wines that reflect the traditions of the territory and the soul of the vines.
