NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful ruby color;

👃🏻 the nose is intense and broad: black cherry and purple, as well as more complex notes of pepper, vanilla, cinnamon and licorice;

👄 on the palate it is deep, enveloping, sapid and juicy, characterized by a silky tannin. Very pleasant.

PAIRING

A rich and elegant wine, with an excellent structure and perfect in combination with braised meats, game, meat-based first courses. For a vegan solution, try it with a savory and rich savory pie.

its strong character.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in Camerano, in the province of Ancona.

These are lands still of rare beauty, where the vine has found a fertile home and speaks a plural language: the native white grape varieties such as Trebbiano, Passerina and the rediscovered pecorino coexist with the delicate rusticity of red Sangiovese and the vigorous strength of black Montepulciano.

From the blend of the former comes the Falerio and the latter the Rosso Piceno Superiore, wines with a strong territorial vocation that today coexist with the Offida DOCG and the interesting single variety interpretations.

And then there is the Rosso Conero, which is born on Monte Conero, 572 meters high on the Adriatic Sea, a unique case on the coast from Trieste to the Gargano. Its district includes a natural park divided between the Municipalities of Ancona, Sirolo, Numana and Camerano. In this area there is a particular microclimate influenced by the altitude of the sunny hills and the proximity of the sea, which makes the cultivation of vines particularly advantageous.

The territory is characterized by an early conversion into organic farming of most of the land dedicated to vineyards and beyond, with agricultural work deeply oriented towards respect for nature: all this determines the quality of the wines of the Piceno hills. Here the climate is continental, characterized by cold winters and hot summers; clayey soils express their maximum potential.

WINERY

La Strologo is a small family-run farm, born from a peasant family who set up on their own in the 60s. Sante Giulio Strologo then plants the first vines in land purchased in the hills.

In 1997, the Strologo company then passed into the management of his son Silvano and his wife Catia Schiaroli who inherited the passion for making good wine and added an important push for modernization, starting to collaborate with a great winemaker, Giancarlo Overwhelms.

There are 14 hectares of vineyards south of Monte Conero.

The winery is located in the stretch of the Adriatic coast, high and rocky, which from the port of the city of Ancona reaches that of Numana. The microclimate is particularly suitable for the cultivation of local grapes: the grapes grow among the hills warmed by the sun's rays and enjoy mild temperatures thanks to the proximity to the sea.
