NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful deep ruby red;

👃🏻 on the nose it expresses an incredibly broad bouquet; from fruit red and black with flowers, with roses and violets in evidence;

👄 on the palate it has great volume, is soft, aromatic and with the right tannicity. An unforgettable red. Long, slightly spicy finish.

RECOMMENDED COMBINATION

Lacrima di Morro d'Alba is a semi-aromatic grape variety: this red - the result of a selection of the best rackings - is soft and structured. It pairs perfectly with meat-based dishes, such as tagliatelle with game sauces, roasts and grilled meats. Also perfect with mature cheeses.

REFINEMENT

Manual harvest in boxes with selection of the grapes in the vineyard in successive phases, from the end of September to October. Vinification in steel and then immediately in barrique for refinement and malolactic fermentation. They refine in barriques for 14-16 months and blend only the best. Each vat or barrel produces a maximum of 10% of product with noble lees which is placed in small steel barrels, where the elevation continues for 18 months (with constant batonnage interventions).

Bottle aging for one year. Only 2500 bottles produced.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

its aromaticity .

TERRITORY OF ORIGIN

TERROR

The Morro d'Alba area is located 10 km from the Adriatic Sea, on the hills between Senigallia and Jesi, north of Ancona. The hills are of Cretaceous origin, with basalts of limestone , mixed ad clays And sands on which alluvial marls and sediments of marine fossils from the original formation of the region rest during the alternating closure and opening of the Strait of Gibraltar. On the surface layers, however, there are sediments of alluvial brown marl and pluvial sand. The climate is affected by the proximity to the coast, but is also characterized by the hilly peculiarity of the area and by the presence of the Lower Elisa Valley and the Triponzio and Guardengo streams. So: cold and humid winters, hot and muggy summers. The main grape variety grown is lacrima. The name derives from the fact that the skin of the grapes when ripe, cracks, allowing the juice to drip. There peel , with a notable thickness, during maceration, provides the wine with a very substantial contribution of anthocyanins , tannins And coloring substances . It is vigorous, productive and constant; but sensitive to both parasite attacks and viral diseases. The vine prefers clayey and sandy hilly soils, rich in minerals, which are well present in this area. It requires sunlight and ventilation, and is harvested at the end of September.

CELLAR

The Luigi Giusti farm is located in Montignano di Senigallia in the province of Ancona, on the hills of the Marche hinterland, a few kilometers away from the Adriatic Sea. Twenty years after starting the agricultural activity, Luigino takes the reins, cultivating the dream of saving the native Marche variety Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, which was risking extinction; a dream that he managed to pass on to his son Pierluigi, who today runs the winery, and has continued in the footsteps of his father.

The vineyards of the Luigi Giusti farm extend across 13 and a half hectares of owned land, treated with the minimum use of fertilizers to maintain a very low environmental impact. The soils where the wines of the Marche winery are grown are predominantly clayey and stubborn, and transmit their Marche character and typical aromas in every bottle produced. The vineyards are cultivated in such a way as to reduce the yield to guarantee the maximum quality of the bunch, for high quality wines.
