NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIER

👁 bright straw yellow.

👃🏻 The nose expresses fruity aromas of apple and pear, with a slightly aromatic finish.

👄 on the palate it is sapid, mineral and decidedly fresh.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Falanghina del Molise is a very fresh and fruity wine, capable of accompanying dishes of medium intensity. It should be enjoyed with aperitifs and simple dishes, especially fish dishes.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

Falanghina cultivated in the vineyards of Monteroduni at 560 above sea level, with a medium-textured clay soil and a guyot training system.
The harvest takes place at the end of September, strictly by hand.

After careful selection of the grapes and soft crushing and destemming, fermentation takes place in terracotta amphorae. Malolactic fermentation follows, also in amphorae, and refinement in steel.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

its authentic freshness.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in Molise, in the province of Isernia, which links its production of DOC wines above all to the rediscovery and enhancement of the tintilia vine, once used to reinforce the colour of other wines and now an increasingly popular DOC wine.

Isernia is situated in a hilly area between the Carpino and Sordo rivers, surrounded by dense woods, the Matese mountains and the Mainarde mountains with an altitude ranging from 285 to 905 metres. It is a high seismic risk area with intense telluric activity in the territory.

Pentro d'Isernia or Pentro (with the white, rosé and red variants, the latter also in the Riserva type) takes its name from the ancient population of the Pentri, "the people of the mountains", the most important of the Samnite race; it is the only DOC in the area and still to be developed, in fact today there is only one producer: the Campi Valerio winery.

WINERY

In the ancient estate of Prince Pignatelli, since 1974 the Valerio family has passionately revived small-scale local viticulture, with a special focus on the indigenous grape varieties of Sannio Pentro.
Having always been farmers, the family's activities have been enriched with new suggestions and oenological values through wine production

The attention paid to the ancient vines and to the territory are the spirit that animates Cantina Valerio, which is the only producer of Pentro wine (one of the rarest wines in the world), and was the first to make a Metodo Classico in its territory.
The strong temperature range favours the production of wines with an intense and decisive character, in the sign of an authentic agricultural vocation.
