NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 Pale straw yellow in color tending towards greenish with fine and incessant perlage.

👃🏻 The scent is intense and persistent, with fruity hints reminiscent of ripe golden apple and acacia flowers.

👄 In the mouth it is fresh, pleasantly slim and light in alcohol, with great softness and balance, with good persistence and a fruity finish.

RECOMMENDED COMBINATION

Thanks to its light structure and lively flavour, it is perfect for an aperitif, enjoyed alone or to accompany different types of canapés with fresh cured meats and cheeses, but also excellent for degreasing the palate with fried fish and vegetables.

REFINEMENT

The Extra Dry Sparkling Wine “Le Gran Ocasion” from the Vallis Mareni winery comes from a blend of Glera, Verdiso and Perera grapes vinified in steel according to the Charmat Method.

TERRITORY OF ORIGIN

TERROR

We are in the Treviso area, where Prosecco is the main wine.

The grape variety that reigns supreme here is Glera , which can be present alone or together with other more or less well-known white grape varieties such as Verdiso , Bianchetta , Perera , Chardonnay , Pinot Bianco and Grigio but also black grape varieties such as pinot noir .

The Prosecco territories are mostly hilly, where working with machines is very difficult. The vineyards are practically all cultivated and harvested by hand . The hills originated millions of years ago from the lifting of the seabed.
Once upon a time, in fact, the entire area was below sea level, marine currents brought numerous debris to these areas which were deposited layer upon layer. Hence marl , clay , sandstone and mud .

Subsequently, during the process of orogeny, these seabeds emerged, thus giving rise to the various reliefs that make up the territory. Part of the hills, then, also underwent modeling by the dolomite glaciers that covered them: once they retreated, they left numerous sediments. Therefore, after a process that lasted millions of years, today we find different compositions of the subsoil: above a rocky layer there are various layers composed of clay, marl, mud, sand, conglomerates of limestone origin and sandstone.

CELLAR

The Vallis Mareni company is located in the municipality of Miane, in the province of Treviso, and is the result of the dream of Giovanni, scion of a family deeply linked to the history of Prosecco, which came true. Villa Mareni was born from a dense network of friendships and personal relationships - which change, exchange and intertwine - and it is a project with which Giovanni gives vent to his desire for freedom and creativity.

Vallis Mareni was born from an idea shared by a group of friends, born and lived among the rows of Prosecco, who love and know their roots, the land in which they grew up, the effort and joy of the harvest.
Vallis Mareni is a winning idea, which is due to the enthusiasm and desire to raise awareness and share the Venetian traditions and the magic of "ciacole" between friends in front of a glass of good wine.

The products of this company are very representative of the Veneto area and its wine culture, where wine is a fundamental component of the daily life of the population and is never missing in homes, taverns, banquets or in any other meeting situation.
Given the premise, it is not surprising that the most famous product of the Vallis Mareni winery is the Prosecco "Ombra" whose name derives from the Venetian term used to indicate the glass of wine, in memory of the ancient Venetian custom of drinking wine in the shade of the bell tower of San Marco.
