NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful ruby red with garnet reflections;

👃🏻 to the nose it expresses fruity and floral aromas, with a slightly herbaceous finish;

👄 on the palate it is warm and soft, with an excellent gustatory balance and a non-invasive tannin that makes it pleasant to drink. A true nectar that surprises with its freshness, softness and roundness. Structured wine and at the same time easy to drink, ductile and fresh.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Ductile Grenache, with great structure and good tannins. It prefers succulent and fleshy dishes with intensity and aromatic persistence. Excellent with persistent first courses, red meats, stews and game. We recommend it with stewed pigeon.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

Plot of just two and a half hectares, dating back to 1988. Soil of stoneware, stones and sediments of the Durance river; full southern exposure. Total destemming, followed by fermentation in cement cuvée at 25-26° C. Very short pumping over, 3 times a day. Fermentation and maceration of 15 days. Ageing in concrete cuvée for one year.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

its structure and balance.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in the Rhône Valley, one of the most important French wine regions, which over the years has been able to carve out an excellent place on the world scene. The local wine production is mainly concentrated on red grape varieties: Syrah and Grenache above all.The most cultivated white grape variety is instead the Viogner.The Rhone Valley is divided into two large sub-areas, southern and northern. The Rhône du Sud includes the areas of: Chateneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Tavel, Lirac, Muscat de Baumes-de-Venise and Rasteau. The northern Rhône includes the areas of: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Château-Grillet, Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Cornas and Saint-Pèray.

WINERY

The Ricome family, owners of vineyards and winery since 1740, began marketing their wines in the mid-nineteenth century, receiving the first medal at the Paris Universal Exposition in 1855. In 1945 Charles Ricome decided to completely replant the vineyard and, in contrast to the region's winemakers, planted the Syrah, becoming the first vigneron in the region to produce wine from this grape in purity. It is since 1990 that Nicolas, son of Charles, has also included Grenache and recently the range of wines has become entirely organic.
