👁 a beautiful amber yellow;

👃🏻 the nose expresses intense fruity notes (honey, peach and apricot), with a finish that recalls the citrus characters of fresh orange;

👄 on the palate it is soft and with good acidity. Long the finish.

 

FOOD PAIRINGS

This blend of Pinot Gris, Malvasia and Muscat represents 100% Slovenian viticulture, characterised by unique and unrepeatable wines aged in amphora, not so easy to pair but very intriguing. They prefer light, fresh dishes that are intense at the same time. We recommend it with porcini and pumpkin bundles.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

Produced from Malvasia, Pinot Gris and Muscat grapes through a strictly manual harvest. The crushing-destemming is soft, while the fermentation is at a controlled temperature. It macerates on the skins for 120 days in a amphora and then undergoes further 18 months of refining in an amphora.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

Slovenia is a unique wine region, capable of giving young, fresh, light and drinkable wines, but also great reds that can age over time.

The Istrian soil is very versatile: here there are many types of soil such as black earth, red earth, sand, clay and silt which guarantee a certain variety in the cultivation of vines (native and international vines). There are three main wine regions in Slovenia: Drava Valley (Podravje), Sava Valley (Posavje), Primorska Primorska Region. Despite the variety, the climate is mainly continental, favorable to the growth of the vine.

WINERY

The winery is located in Colombano closed to the city of Ancarano, in southwestern Slovenia, and cultivates vineyards at a low altitude, between 90 and 130 meters above sea level. Only 3.5 hectares of vineyard, on marly soil.

They cultivate Malvasia, Muscat, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Bianco, Refosco, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah. In biological conversion, except for sulfur, they do not use other oenological preparations for the production of their wines.
A winery that is very specialized in the production of wines aged in amphora, produced from a vineyard of just 5 hectares, to the point that it can be said that those of Gordia are among the best wines in amphora in Slovenia.
