NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 it's a beautiful bright pale yellow;

👃🏻 the nose expresses hints of ripe yellow fruit as well as complex aromatic and spicy notes;

👄 to the palate is warm, smooth and endowed with excellent sapidity. The finish is enriched by a slightly mineral note.

FOOD PAIRING

This is a well structured wine. It perfectly matches with dishes having strong flavors, shellfish and crustaceans. It can also be tasted alone, as a meditation wine, or in combination with the most complex dishes of the Mediterranean cuisine.

REFINEMENT

Franco Franco is the essence of Pecorino. The grapes grow on a hill 356 meters above sea level. The grapes are harvested by hand during the second decade of September. After soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature, the wine matures first in steel tanks and then undergoes a brief passage in small toasted wood barrels.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in Montegiorgio, in the district of Fermo, in Marche region.
These are lands still little urbanized and of rare beauty, where the vine has found a fertile dwelling and speaks a plural language: the autochthonous white berried varieties such as trebbiano, passerina and the rediscovered Pecorino coexist with the delicate rusticity of the red sangiovese and the vigorous strength of the black Montepulciano.

From the blend of the first ones was born Falerio and from the second ones Rosso Piceno Superiore, wines with a strong territorial vocation which today coexist with Offida DOCG and the interesting interpretations from single grape.

The territory is characterized by an early conversion in organic farming of most of the lands dedicated to vineyards and not only, with agricultural work deeply oriented to the respect of nature: all this determines the quality of the wines of Piceno hills.
Here the climate is continental, characterized by cold winters and hot summers; the clayey soils express their highest potential.

WINERY

Officina del Sole stands on a hill located in Montegiorgio, an area known as Monte Milone. It seems it owes its name to its first owner, centurion Milone, a veteran of the legendary battle of Actium in 31 BC. At that time, Emperor Augustus Caesar gave a piece of land to every war veteran: to Milone he assigned an entire hill for the value shown in battle.The Estate is the result of the long and meticulous renovation of a farmhouse abandoned for twenty-five years.Today it stands in the simple harmony of the regularity of the ancient houses, still present in the rural territory that dominates these lands: a true agricultural heritage of the Marche. Natural limestone, terracotta bricks, wood and reused materials from abandoned houses make up the local landscape.All around: a panoramic view, unforgettable sunsets and plays of light and shadow as far as the eye can see, surrounded by the scents of vineyards, olive groves and orchards. Officina del Sole's wines are the result of careful, delicate and silent fermentations and maturations, with the goal of reaching the highest quality.The approach is the one of minimal intervention, although in constant and almost maniacal care. Advanced technologies help in a process which is only apparently simple.There are 14 hectares of cultivated vineyards, which are carefully cared by the winery. Pecorino, Passerina, Verdicchio, Lacrima and Montepulciano are the regional indigenous vines; Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, Syrah and Pinot noir are the international ones selected to best express the characteristics of the terroir.

Un bianco corposo

Ottimo vino bianco. Ha dato maggiore importanza ad un primo piatto di pesce importante. Corposo, anche se avrei preferito una prof un’azione più intensa.
