NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 onion skin pink with very fine and persistent perlage;

👃🏻 on the nose it expresses fine notes of flowers (wild rose) and small red berries (raspberry);

👄 on the palate it has a refined freshness and the delicate fruity notes confirm its great elegance; dry, dry, elegant.

RECOMMENDED COMBINATION

An elegant wine rich in flavour, capable of pairing well with dishes featuring medium fatness. Ideal with fish, shellfish, seafood but also with delicate cured meats.

REFINEMENT

Grapes harvested by hand with selection of the bunches.

Very slow and soft pressing of whole bunches. It owes its delicate and constant color to the maturation of the submerged cap skins. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature with indigenous yeasts. Refermentation in the bottle in accordance with the Franciacorta regulations. Aged for 30 months on the yeasts and 6 in the bottle.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

TERRITORY OF ORIGIN

TERROR

The winery is located in Franciacorta, one of Italy’s most renowned wine regions, stretching from the southern shore of Lake Iseo to the city of Brescia. This landscape of gently rolling hills is covered in vineyards and dotted with stone villages, castles, towers, silent monasteries, and historic mansions. The terrain was shaped by the advance and retreat of ancient glaciers, which deposited a wide variety of mineral-rich debris, contributing to the soil’s complexity and diversity.

The climate also plays a key role in defining the area's unique character: to the north, cool breezes from the Camonica Valley and Lake Iseo; to the south, the warmer plains; to the east, hilly breezes and significant diurnal temperature variation; and to the west, more rolling hills and fertile lowlands.

Franciacorta is the flagship wine of the region — elegant, structured, and made exclusively using bottle refermentation with extended aging on the lees. Minimum aging periods are set by the production regulations: 18 months for Franciacorta, 24 months for Satèn and Rosé, 30 months for vintage (Millesimato) wines, and at least 60 months for Riserva wines.

Franciacorta is classified according to the amount of “liqueur d’expédition” added after disgorgement: from Pas Dosé, Extra Brut, and Brut to Extra Dry, Dry, and Demi-Sec. Satèn, produced exclusively from white grapes, is made in the Brut style and is characterized by a lower bottle pressure (under 5 atmospheres), resulting in a particularly creamy mouthfeel.

Franciacorta wines are made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc (up to a maximum of 50%). Since 2017, small amounts of Erbamat — a rediscovered local variety known for its high acidity and ability to enhance aging potential — have also been permitted.

CELLAR

The La Valle company is located in Rodengo Saiano, in the heart of Franciacorta, in a beautiful hilly area, particularly suited to viticulture, near a famous 11th century Olivetan abbey, a few km from Lake Iseo and Brescia, in Lombardy. It owes its name to the main land of the company, called La Valle, purchased by the ancestors of the current owners way back in 1890 (as evidenced by an ancient notarial deed) and has always been cultivated with vines.

The company's historic vineyards, including "La Valle", "Roccolo", "Bredina", "Tesa", enjoy an extraordinary and unique exposure and microclimate and give special grapes from noble vines: chardonnay, pinot bianco and pinot noir; rich in aromas, scents and flavors. It is managed by the Pezzola family, who released the first 3,000 bottles of vintage wine in 1993, some of which are still jealously guarded in the cellar.

In the following years, the collaboration of the children, the love for the land, for its grapes, and the consultancy of prestigious winemakers, including Jeanne Pierre Valade, have made La Valle a well-known and consolidated brand of quality Franciacorta and niche.

The secret is the combination of a respectful and attentive approach to the natural dynamics in the vineyard and the most equipped technologies in the cellar. Six hectares of vineyards, for a small and well-kept production.
