Château Rambaud

Since 1924, the Mouty family has passionately cultivated the land surrounding their Château du Barry, located south of Saint-Émilion. With nearly a century of experience, the estate is now managed by Daniel Mouty, one of the few "Vignerons indépendants" in the region, who continues to honor the family legacy by blending tradition and innovation.

The vineyards of Château Rambaud stretch across the commune of Génissac, on the southern bank of the Dordogne River, less than 10 km from Saint-Émilion. This geographical location, while not within the Saint-Émilion AOC, allows the production of wines under the Bordeaux AOC.

Château Rambaud

The vineyards of Château Rambaud are located in one of the most renowned areas of the entire region.

With its unique terroir, consisting of clay soils over a limestone subsoil, Château Rambaud represents an elegant expression of Bordeaux winemaking, producing wines that combine authenticity, structure, and great drinkability.

Bordeaux

The Bordeaux region is one of the most important wine territories in the world. Not only does this region reach dizzying qualitative peaks, but it has consistently maintained those results, year after year, with top-notch quality.

Centuries of tradition and pursuit of quality have raised the bar and made Bordeaux wines famous: in 80% of cases, they are imposing red wines of remarkable structure and power, but there are also examples of botrytized or noble rot wines that complete the oenological panorama and elevate Bordeaux's reputation.

Bordeaux benefits from its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. The climate is maritime: mild winters, cool summers, abundant precipitation but very well absorbed by the soil rich in stones, breccia, and sediments. The soils are highly variable on the surface, not particularly fertile, and covered by a thin layer of breccia, while the deeper layers are rich in minerals.

Regarding the classification, most wines are designated as Cru Bourgeois, but otherwise, there is no homogeneous system for the entire region.

Gironde

The Gironde, the largest estuary in Europe covering an area of 685 km², stretches 75 km in southwestern France, from the confluence of the Dordogne and Garonne rivers to the Atlantic Ocean. This vast area divides the Bordeaux wine region into two distinctive banks: the "rive droite," dominated by limestone soils and known for the Blaye - Côtes de Bordeaux and Côtes de Bourg appellations, where Merlot predominates. The "rive gauche," famous for its renowned Grand Cru Classé, is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon.

On the right bank, the Charente-Maritime extends northward, where the land becomes flatter, and viticulture gradually diminishes. Toward the estuary, the Pointe de Grave headland marks the opening of the Gironde into the Atlantic.

The Gironde is part of the IGP Atlantique area, which includes wines that reflect the maritime influence of the region. The presence of the two rivers and the broad opening toward the ocean give the department a strong identity, with microclimates that favor the production of expressive and complex wines typical of the Bordeaux region.

The right and left banks of the Gironde offer distinct yet equally extraordinary terroirs, each with its own unique personality.

Grilled Meat

Skewers, pork, steaks, up to the noble Florentine steak... grilling enhances the flavor of the meat (properly marinated) and makes it pleasantly charred. Best enjoyed in company for truly convivial barbecues, always being careful not to place the meat directly over the flame.

Braised Beef

Braised beef is a cornerstone of Piedmontese cuisine, savory and succulent with complex aromas. For an elegant touch, cook it in the same wine you will be serving.
