NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful straw yellow with golden reflections;

👃🏻 on the nose it expresses distinct floral notes such as chamomile and violet, with a pleasant and slightly acidic scent of orange blossom and grapefruit;

👄 a balsamic note of mint, on the nose, continues in the mouth, where the wine is enveloping and ample, with good acidity and long aftertaste persistence. A little masterpiece.

FOOD PAIRINGS

This Sauvignon Blanc is an extremely versatile wine with great character. It pairs well with fatty fish (such as salmon or monkfish), with vegetarian first courses (such as mushroom lasagna), spiced and flavored meat or important cheeses.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

Duality is born from the union (the duality) of Sauvignon Blanc grapes obtained in vineyards with opposite characteristics one to the other. In fact, a vineyard has southern exposure, which allows the grapes to reach higher ripeness that guarantee structure, warmth and softness.
Instead, the other vineyard is exposed North-East, in an area that is most affected by temperature variations, guaranteeing more varietal aromatic notes and greater acidity that gives freshness.
Sauvignon grapes, after harvesting, are de-stemmed and softly pressed, then vinified and refined in second passage oak barrels for 12 months. At the end of the maturation, the wine remains to refine for 6 other months in steel, and then, after bottling, for a further 6 months in glass.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

its character.

ORIGINS

TERROIR

The winery is located in Corno di Rosazzo, in the eastern hills. The wines produced in this area are the result of a unique terroir. The optimal pedoclimatic conditions have allowed the cultivation of typical vines, born in the Eastern Hills and cultivated here since forever, as well as other varieties from different European areas, which have adapted perfectly here, achieving important results in terms of quality. Friuli Colli Orientali production, strictly limited in terms of quantity, is characterized by manual harvests and the discreet use of the most modern oenological techniques; tradition and modernity come together to maintain the integrity of the product, ensure a high standard of quality and above all give unique sensations to the tasting thanks to the centuries-old and good interaction between winemaker, grape variety and territory. The native vines grown in the Friuli Colli Orientali area are Malvasia, Picolit, Pignolo, Refosco dal eduncolo rosso, Ribolla gialla, Schioppettino, Tazzelenghe, Tocai friulano and Verduzzo friulano. Some grapes are here since over two thousand years as they are documented since Roman times.

WINERY

The Specogna family business has been active since 1963, when Leonardo, returned to Friuli from Switzerland, bought small plots of land near Corno di Rosazzo, near Udine; the territory have always produced great wines, but the first and second world wars led many people, like Leonardo, to fled in search of work in more developed cities. Luckily, starting from the 60s, there has been a return of emigrants, including those from Friuli, who have rediscovered and invested in the ancient traditions of their land. Leonardo Specogna's newborn farm began with both dairy and cereal production, as well as wine production, and over time, the second generation decides to invest in the production of high quality wines, following the family winemaking traditions. Today the third generation produces with and passion, the classic and renowned local wines, white and red, whose vineyards extend for 24 hectares of land, in the hills of the north east of Friuli.
