NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 a beautiful ruby red with garnet hues;

👃🏻 the nose expresses fruity aromas of cherry and red fruit, but also cocoa and spices, with a slightly herbaceous finish;

👄 the palate is fresh, round and soft. The tannins and acidity are quite elegant and make the sip very pleasant.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Côtes du Rhône is a very intense, complex and structured wine. It prefers very persistent and full-bodied dishes with succulence. Perfect to accompany a mixed grill.

REFINEMENT

The Côte du Rhone is composed of 75% grenache, 15% vieux carignan and 10% syrah. Fermentation takes place in cement vats and maceration lasts for at least 20 days.
This is followed by an ageing period of 10 months, also in cement. The stay in the bottle allows grenache to express at its best its peculiarities and perfumes.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR....

its complexity.

ORIGINS

TERROIR

We are in the Rhone Valley, one of France's most important wine regions, and over the years it has managed to carve out a place for itself on the world stage.

The Rhône Valley's production is concentrated above all on black grapes: syrah and grenache above all, which have practically divided the territory in two. The most widely cultivated white grape variety is viogner.

 The Rhône Valley is divided into two large sub-zones, the southern and northern. The Southern Rhône includes the areas of: Chateneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Tavel, Lirac, Muscat de Baumes-de-Venise and Rasteau. The Northern Rhône includes the areas of: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Château-Grillet, Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Cornas and Saint-Pèray.

WINERY

Laetitia and Serge Gradassi have been running the Domaine, a family property for almost two centuries, with great attention to agronomy and a proud sense of belonging to one of Europe's most beautiful and historic appellations: Châteauneuf du Pape. The "Wine of the Popes", because it was here that the Pope was in exile from 1307 to 1377. Their Côte du Rhone, although a very large appellation in the Southern Rhône, comes from two neighbouring communes: Codolet and Saint Laurent des Arbres.

The Domaine was founded in 1805 by Benoît Jouffron, ancestor of Serge's mother and grandmother of Laetitia Paulette Gradassi.
At the time, the estate was called "Les Terres Saintes". The vines are carefully selected according to their maturity and potential.
The work in the cellar is meticulous and the production phases are all followed in the first person. In addition to Châteauneuf du Pape, Lirac, Côtes du Rhône and Espirit are also produced.

ottimo
