NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS
👁 a beautiful ruby red with garnet hues;
👃🏻 the nose is intense and complex, with fruity and floral aromas. The finish is characterized by a slight herbaceous note;
👄 on the palate it is dry, warm, soft with great persistence and balanced tannin: all of which makes for a decidedly pleasant drink.
FOOD PARINGS
This blend of Syrah, Grenache and Marselan is a complex wine endowed with body and intensity. It favors succulent dishes with great structure. Perfect to pair with red meats, game and aged cheeses.
WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT
Convivialitè is grown in Clape vineyards in the Aude, one of the sunniest places in France. After harvesting by hand and in boxes, the grapes are destemmed and then pressed. This is followed by red vinification with temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine is aged in traditional tanks.
YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...
its intensity and complexity.
ORIGIN
TERROIR
We are in Languedoc Roussillon, one of the largest and most productive regions in all of France, with production that in recent years is increasingly focusing on quality. The climate is Mediterranean and warm, making it one of the most favorable in France for growing vines, although some areas are quite cool, such as the hills of Minervois and Limoux, thanks to the slightly higher altitude.
The soils are mostly limestone, schist and stony, forming the characteristic garrigues, a rocky landscape interspersed with lush Mediterranean scrub. In these soils Syrah and Carignan grow well and yield wines rich in structure, tannins and flavor. In the lowlands, the soils are alluvial and fertile, and mainly Grenache, Cinsault and Muscat are grown, yielding wines richer in alcohol.
WINERY
Château Camplazens is located on the highest plateau of the Clape region in the Aude, between Armissan, Narbonne and Narbonne Plage, in the heart of the Narbonnaise Regional Nature Park.
This ancient Roman outcrop is recognized as the largest protected natural site in Languedoc (Natura 2000). This designation has preserved its wild, rugged and emotional beauty from its island origins.
Vines thrive in this rugged environment bathed in sun and light. La Clape is one of the sunniest places in France, which makes the grape growing process much easier and simplified. From time to time, a southern storm manages to breach the adof, the domain of La Clape's winds. This rare triggers an event to be seen.
La Clape becomes a tropical island. Pines bend under the elements and ravines weave their web. The vine is strengthened by the sight of this triple contact: the water irrigates and cleans, the wind dries and aerates the vines while the sun nourishes it and fills its berries with sugar. The harshness of this climate is a guarantee of high quality wines. The vineyard, lashed by the Tramontana, owes its uniqueness to a cracked limestone soil that, combined with the Mediterranean maritime climates favors the maintenance of great biodiversity (garrigue) and brings to our Mediterranean wines much freshness, minerality and breed.
