NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS
👁 of a beautiful pale yellow;👃🏻 the nose is intense, fine and complex, with notes of elderflower, exotic fruit (mango and pineapple above all) and mint;
👄 at the palate it's intense, sapid and fresh, full-bodied but at the same time elegant and velvety.
Contessa Lene is an intense and complex wine, with a medium structure. It pairs well with food with intense flavor, aroma and freshness. Try it with white meat appetizers, lake and sea fish, even with a strong and aromatic taste, or crustaceans in savory preparations.
WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT
The Sauvignon Blanc DOC Contessa Lene is a masterful interpretation of Sauvignon Blanc from the Terlano area. The collection and manual selection of the grapes, together with the soft pressing, are the basis of the quality of this white wine, while the vinification, fermentation and aging in steel only allow the perfect preservation of the aromas.
YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...
its intensity and nose complexity.
The winery is located in Puegnago, in the area of Lake Garda, in Northern Italy.
Here viticulture has very ancient origins, since the Bronze Age. The Romans produced wine in the various rural villas whose remains have been found in various areas of the lake (Sirmione, Desenzano). The production of wine, as well as olive oil continues in the Middle Ages, in the monasteries around the lake. Today well-curated vineyards and olive groves characterize the landscape of the hills surrounding the coast. Bardolino, Lugana, Custoza and Rebo grapes are grown here. The southern part of Lake Garda is characterized by the gentle hills of the morainic amphitheater, of glacial origin. The Adige river valley runs parallel to Lake Garda. The sandy valley floor and the slopes have always been an important wine production area with the Terra dei Forti DOC in the Veneto area and Valdadige beyond the Trentino border. Here, you find some rare grapes such as the rare Enantio or the Marzemino. Further north, great whites based on Müller-thurgau, Pinot Gris as well as renowned "Metodo Classico" style sparkling wines are produced.
Conti Thun winery is located in the heart of Valtènesi, a few steps from Lake Garda. The proximity to the lake determines the particular temperate microclimate, which favors a quality viticulture by combining very special soils.
At the center of 12 hectares of vineyards and 2 of olive groves, stands the nineteenth-century farmhouse in the courtyard, a place wrapped in a unique atmosphere. Typical varieties such as Groppello, Marzemino, Sangiovese and Barbera grapes are grown in the vineyards, as well as Riesling and Sauvignon among the whites. Inside the courtyard is the ancient barrel cellar, a very suggestive environment where you can breathe the antiquity of the wine culture in the company.
Conti Thun produces the typical wines of the area, starting from the sparkling wines produced with the Charmat Method, tp the rosés, to the reds. In addition to Valténesi property Conti Thun owns a Sauvignon Blanc vineyard in Alto Adige with which he produces the "Contessa Lene".
