NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 of a beautiful golden yellow with fine and persistent perlage;

👃🏻 the nose is fruity and fragrant, with a citrus and bread crust finish resulting from ageing;

👄 on the palate it is fresh, with great flavor and a unique softness.

FOOD PAIRINGS
This blend of Chardonnay and Folle blanche is a fresh and fragrant wine, it loves dishes with fatness and greasiness, accompanied by a not too heavy dressing. It goes very well with fried fish, mussel terrine and raw fish.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

This blend of chardonnay and folle blanche is a tribute to the forefather, Joseph Gregoire, an orphan abandoned in 1816 in a hospital in Nantes.
Method Chanpenoise from vines almost forty year old. Manual harvest, soft destemming press, first fermentation takes place followed by the second refermentation according to the traditional Champenoise Method, in the bottle. Ageing on the fine lees for 28 months.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

its creaminess and softness.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in the Loire, a legendary region for its wines and its castles. In the Loire Valley we can talk about viticulture starting from the fifth century BC, thanks to the Romans who founded Paulica Villa, the current Pouilly-sur-Loire, and planted the first vineyards in Saumur and Sancerre. The climate is very varied: on the coast the temperatures are milder, the humidity is good but sometimes dangerous spring frosts occur, while as you move inland the climate becomes more and more continental, with short summers and warmer, colder winters and increasing temperature fluctuations.
The soils are also very different from one area to another: ranging from granites mixed with sand in the Muscadet area, to red schists and slate in the Anjou area, to gravel and sand from Chinon. And above all to the gypsum of Saumur and Vouvray, which gives wines rich in minerality, and to the clay and gypsum of Sancerre and Pouilly. Vines such as Melon de Bourgogne, Sauvignon blanc, Chenin blanc, Chasselas, Gros blanc, Cabernet franc, Gamay, Grolleau and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown here.

WINERY

The history of the Lieubeau winery begins in a particular way, when in 1816 the newborn Joseph Lieubeau was left in the Nantes hospital. Raised by a family of winemakers, he learns to take care of the vineyards, andlater found the Lieubeau company.
Today it is Pierre, Chantal and their children François, Vincent and Marie who carry on this winery, each with their own personality and skills, combined with the savoir-faire that has always distinguished the winery, giving life to excellent products.
The Lieubeau family strongly believes in the saying "a great wine comes from great grapes" and for this reason the attention and care given to the territory and to the vineyards are maximum.
Thanks to internally developed tools such as the weather station and a solution to map the vineyards, they constantly monitor their property to get to know it better and adopt the most suitable methods for each single plot. The Muscadet region, in fact, is characterized by numerous microclimates that give life to grapes and then to wines with different personalities, all represented at best and with great care by the Lieubeau family.
