NOTES FROM OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 Straw yellow with light golden reflections;

👃🏻 the nose is refined and broad. Above all, fruity hints of pear, apple and plum stand out, with mineral nuances of aromatic herbs and acacia;

👄 on the palate it is fresh and savoury, full-bodied and concentrated, with a long and persistent finish. Unforgettable.

RECOMMENDED COMBINATION

A concentrated and rich Fiano di Avellino, which pairs well with tasty and fragrant dishes. Perfect with fish, shellfish or white meat dishes.

REFINEMENT

From the vineyard of Montefredane, located 300-400 meters above sea level and characterized by clayey soils, with minerals and microelements typical of tufaceous and clayey soils, pure Fiano di Avellino harvested by hand with selection of the bunches. Aged in steel and in bottles, it is produced only in the best years.

TERRITORY OF ORIGIN

TERROR

The climate is temperate with notable differences in temperature and rainfall even within a few kilometres.

The province of Avellino stands out from the other provinces of Campania for the presence of three of the four DOCGs in the region.

Fiano di Avellino DOCG is dedicated to wines obtained from the vinification of grapes from the Fiano, Greco, Coda di Volpe and Trebbiano Toscano vines. The wines of the Greco di Tufo DOCG, the most famous in the area, are obtained from Greco and Coda di Volpe, in the still white and sparkling types. With Aglianico alone we obtain the Taurasi DOCG wine, known as the "Barolo of the south" due to its predisposition to aging. The reserve type requires maturation for four years, of which at least 18 months in wooden barrels. The only DOC present in the province of Avellino is the Irpinia DOC, while the IGT is the regional denomination Campania IGT.

CELLAR

We are in Montefredane,  in the heart of Irpinia, and the first bottle of Fiano di Avellino labeled Vadiaperti dates back to 1984. The winery has 10 hectares of vineyards and has always pursued the valorization of native vines. Raffaele Troisi has set up the work in the vineyard so that human intervention must be minimal. Its vineyards are between 300 and 600 meters above sea level, along the Sabato river valley, trained with Fiano, Greco, Coda di Volpe and Aglianico.

In the cellar the style is that of the vineyard, to enhance the territory and traditions, and enclose Campania wine in every bottle.

A new project has been underway since 2011, Traerte, a name that means "between mountain roads". Stylistic coherence is constant in the wines produced by the Troisi family, far from winemaking fashions, but instead close to traditions, the only variables capable of giving wines with personality, elegant, rich in aromas and aromas.

A small artisanal cellar where maximum care is taken.
