👁 a beautiful intense ruby red;

TERRITORY OF ORIGIN

TERROR

We are in the terroir of the Picentini Hills, in the province of Salerno.

This territory is extremely interesting from a winemaking point of view: within the protected area there are some of the most important wineries in Campania. Wineries that in the space of a few years have achieved international fame and an important level of quality. Vegetation has a crucial role for the ecosystem, in fact Monte Tuoro, in the highest part, is characterized by the dominant presence of beech trees, while as you go down, chestnuts, turkey oaks and mountain maples make their way; another non-secondary aspect is the presence of numerous springs which give rise to water courses which mostly reach down into the valley. The vines, therefore, grow in this environment and derive all the benefits from it .

CELLAR

Lunarossa is the small Campania winery founded in 2006 in Giffoli Valle Piana, in the province of Salerno: by combining fidelity to tradition with an inexhaustible and innovative desire to experiment, it is making the world aware of the great terroir of the Picentini Mountains, in the Salerno area: a vast regional park on the Campania Apennines, with two oases protected by the WWF. Here, the sea breeze influences both calcareous and clayey soils.

The Lunarossa vineyards and cellar are in fact located in a splendid area, located inland but influenced by the sea breezes of the nearby Gulf of Salerno and safeguarded with great love and attention according to the principles of wine production with very low environmental impact. Mario Mazzitelli is the owner and winemaker of Lunarossa, aided by the winemaker Fortunato Sebastiano, whose contribution is crucial in reaching the great qualitative peaks for which the winery is known.

The mission is to enhance the native vines , Fiano and Aglianico above all, not sparing experiments with international vines and seeking new ways of winemaking (including maceration on the skins and aging in amphora...). The wines of the Lunarossa winery express passion, enthusiasm and creativity, with great attention to the naturalness of the products demonstrated by the organic production in 5 hectares of vineyards.
