NOTES BY OUR SOMMELIERS

👁 of a beautiful deep pale yellow;

👃🏻 the nose reveals bold aromas of citrus flowers and flavors of apple and pear;

👄 on the palate it is fresh, well balanced with marked mineral notes.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Ae Falanghina del Molise is a soft and very fruity wine, capable of accompanying medium intensity dishes. Perfect to pair with meat, fish and fresh cheeses.

WINE-MAKING AND REFINEMENT

This blend of Falanghina and Trebbiano pays homage to the city of Isernia. The vines are cultivated in Monteroduni at 560 above sea level, with a medium-textured clayey soil and a guyot training system.
The harvest takes place at the end of September, strictly by hand. After a careful selection of the grapes and a soft crushing-destemming, the alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by the malolactic fermentation always in steel. The wine always ages in steel.

YOU WILL LOVE IT FOR...

its freshness and beautiful fruity notes.

ORIGIN

TERROIR

We are in Molise, in the province of Isernia, which links its production of DOC wines above all to the rediscovery and enhancement of the Tintilia grape, once used to enhance the color of other wines, now it is an increasingly popular DOC wine. Isernia is located in a hilly area between the Carpino and Sordo rivers, surrounded by very dense woods, from the Matese mountains to the Mainarde with an altitude varying between 285 and 905 meters.
It is a high seismic risk area with intense telluric activity.
Pentro d'Isernia or Pentro (with the white, pink and red variants, the latter also in the Riserva type) takes its name from the ancient population of the Pentri, "the people of the mountains", the most important of the Samnites lineage; it is the only DOC in the region and still has a lot to develop.

WINERY

In the ancient estate of Principe Pignatelli, the Valerio family has passionately recovered small local viticulture since 1974, with special attention to the native vines of Sannio Pentro. Farmers always, the family activities have been enriched with the wine production of new suggestions and enological values. The attention paid to the ancient vines and the territory are the spirit that animates the Cantina Valerio, which is the only producer of Pentro wine (one of the rarest wines in the world), and was the first to create a Classic Method in its own territory.
The strong temperature variations favor the production of wines with an intense and decisive character, in the sign of an authentic agricultural vocation.
The estate counts five individual vineyards, each offering great diversity, thus producing wines that show their distinctive characteristics. These selected parcels are intended for the harvest of the Tintilia, Montepulciano, Falanghina and sangiovese varieties.

piacevole, fresco e profumato. mi è piaciuta la morbidezza ma mancava, a mio gusto, una maggiore sapidità che amo molto nei bianchi
