Kloster Eberbach

The Kloster Eberbach, a monastery founded in the Rheingau in 1136 by Bernard of Clairvaux, features a very ancient basilica in Romanesque style. Its oldest vineyard, Steinberg, dates back to that era.
During the Middle Ages, the monastery became Germany's main wine producer, with many vineyards grown in the Rhine forests.

The wine produced, transported along the Rhine River, was primarily
intended for Northern Europe. During the Protestant Reformation, the monastery underwent changes but production continues to this day, perpetuating millenary traditions.

Slide title

The Rheingau is located west of Frankfurt, along the north and east banks of the Rhine. It is the best area in the world for the production of Riesling which represents the main grape variety here, with 80% of the grapes grown.

The Rieslings here are very different from those of Mosella or Alatinato: very aromatic, fruity and floral, round and full-bodied, with a less marked acidity. The favorable climatic conditions and the Rhine which reflects the light and heat of the sun are decisive, guaranteeing greater reliability and
consistency in the ripening of the grapes.

Extraordinary uslese wines are also produced in the Rheingau,
Beerenauslese and rockenbeerenauslese. Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) is also grown in Heingau, producing red wines with aromas that are generally spicy and of bitter almonds.

The German wine quality system is unique. In fact, unlike many other European systems, in Germany the classification is linked to an interesting concept, linked to the "degree of ripeness of the grapes" and therefore to the concentration of sugars in the
bunch, a characteristic that makes the system peculiar.

Territory

Syracuse

The winemaking territory of Syracuse, an enchanting city located on the eastern coast of Sicily, boasts a rich winemaking tradition that extends along the slopes of the majestic Etna volcano and the fertile plains of the Val di Noto.

Here, the temperate Mediterranean climate, with its hot summer days and cool sea breezes, creates optimal conditions for growing grapes.

Among the most cultivated varieties we find the famous Nero d'Avola, an indigenous Sicilian vine that gives robust and full-bodied wines, rich in black fruit and spices, ideal for aging.
Alongside this, Frappato, with its floral and fruity notes, helps create fresh and aromatic wines, perfect for summer.
