A dream that is still taking shape, and which has its roots in the history of this territory, when my grandfather Guglielmo, a founding member of the Brunello Consortium, passed on to my father the passion for the vineyard that came to me a couple of decades ago.
This is how Ilaria Martini describes her winery, San Guglielmo, a young reality in the heart of Tuscany that has certainly moved us. Ilaria San Guglielmo's words weave a compelling story, revealing a unique and engaging perspective on reality:
"On the western side of Montalcino at around 430 meters above sea level, on land of marl and palombini, our small vineyard is surrounded by pure Mediterranean scrub, an indispensable partner for the climatic balance of the entire surrounding area.
San Guglielmo is a family-run winery, and it couldn't be otherwise: this is our land, this is our vineyard and we wish to personally follow all the phases of wine production, in the vineyard and in the cellar, up to bottling. With the same attention we take care of the environmental aspect , for sustainable production.
We debut on the market with the Brunello DOCG 2016 (included in our list of the 5 best italian red wines of 2023) and the Rosso DOC 2019, for a total of eleven thousand bottles: two different vintages but both characterized by precise peculiarities.
Dreams can become wonderful realities."
