We are in Cossignano, in the Marche region, land of the DOC Rosso Piceno Superiore and the DOCG Offida Pecorino : an area known for the great quality of its wines.
Our company is located between the Adriatic Sea and the Sibillini Mountains National Park, in a special place, where the sea breezes meet the temperature range of the Apennines.
Our grapes have been grown organically and vinified naturally for 20 years. We work to have healthy grapes, to reduce intervention in the cellar to a minimum, and we do this by combining ancient traditional knowledge with the best innovation. We harvest by hand and use only indigenous yeasts, but we make use of the most modern technologies, in our largely underground cellar, to preserve the integrity and healthiness of our wines.
We are inspired by the manifesto of the Vignerons of Europe, from 2009:
The winemaker is the one who personally takes care of the vineyard, the cellar and the sales, who gives life to a wine that gives pleasure, a product of the territory and its thoughts, an expression of an authentic culture. It involves the consumer with its passion, safeguards and enriches the territory and its biodiversity .
We believe in the values of territoriality and traditions : we only grow native vines such as sangiovese, montepulciano and pecorino and we work to enhance the organic viticulture of the Marche, the traceability of its wines, the defense of the territory and its beauty, the diffusion of good agronomic practices , for a sustainable and supportive economy . Only in this way can the quality of food, landscape and life be protected.
We enjoy the small but great satisfactions that our work gives us, including the recent awards for our Pecorino 2018 (5 bunches in the Bibenda Guide), a wine to which Lettie Teague recently dedicated a nice review in The Wall Street Journal .
