Stage #32 of the Sommelier Wine Box (November 2020, led by sommelier Laura Bertozzi ) was dedicated to great biodynamic wines.
What fascinates us in wine, consciously or unconsciously, is the virtuous correlation that links winemaker, grape variety and soil and climate conditions. If the relationship is respectful, something beautiful can only be born, and respect must come from the winemaker, given that Nature is already lavish with gifts towards us.
Biodynamics was born by Rudolf Steiner precisely to recover this relationship.
At the end of the First World War, all the war chemicals were poured into the fields in copious quantities and some far-sighted farmers, aware of the fact that the Earth was being poisoned in this way, turned to Steiner to help them reclaim it and make it fertile.
Biodynamics, using what Nature offers , tries to give even greater vitality to the soil , with completely natural fertilizers and preparations, thus allowing the soil to express itself at its best.
We have chosen some wines that are produced biodynamically: the common thread in all of them is the great personality and the ability to let the territories in which they are grown express themselves .
The wineries proposed in the November 2020 selection are: Il Ghizzano , 1701 Franciacorta , Fattoria Sardi , Cosimo Maria Masini .
