Step #8
Stage #8 of the Sommelier Wine Box (November 2018) was led by Anna Cardin - best sommelier in Italy FISAR 2015 , who took us on a round-trip Veneto-Piedmont journey to discover native wines.
It is a story of belonging, that of the native vine. A vine that was planted there for the first time is defined as autochthonous to a territory: from that moment on, it has formed a special bond with that land and only in that place can it express the best of itself.
This month we will take a journey from Veneto to Piedmont: we will start from the warm nuances of the yellow Moscato of the Veneto to arrive at Nebbiolo - the symbolic grape of Piedmont, harvested when the vineyards are already shrouded in mist - passing through Garganega, Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara.
The resulting wines are authentic extracts of the area of origin: direct reflections of the composition of the soil, the climate, the altitude, the exposure and the beauty of that territory.
