Stage #22 of Sommelier Wine Box (January 2020, led by Simone Loguercio - best sommelier in Italy 2018 ) was a wonderful journey into the Cilento of wine .
"The most splendid image that I will carry with me intact to the North." This is how Goethe defines Paestum, in his Journey to Italy . Cilento shows off all its richness here, in terms of history and gastronomic excellence. The journey to Cilento that I propose is a journey marked by time, by ancient farms, by centuries-old woods, by Greek ruins, through forgotten flavours, scents and small glimpses of daily life . It is a micro-world of stories, vineyards and thoughts . It is a land of stubborn expectations and resilient hearts. The pursuit of happiness . Among these breathtaking scenery of hills, mountains and coasts, you can meet singular realities of winemakers, each with a philosophy and a particular terroir , but all agreeing on one concept: "Wine in itself does not exist in nature, it is the man to create it. And to do this he must respect nature, the vineyards and know the exact moment to make it wine. The real one and one of a kind." This is why Simone chose Cilento, which is also his homeland.
