Native, second to none!

vitigni autoctoni

Stage #31

Stage #31 of the Sommelier Wine Box (October 2020, led by Marco Barbetti, best sommelier in Italy FISAR 2018) was dedicated to native vines, which are second to none!

Italy boasts a wealth of native vines far superior to the rest of the world. A treasure of culture, traditions and flavors of inestimable importance, which too often we do not know how to appreciate and valorise in the appropriate way.

The native vines faithfully express the peculiarities of the territory because they are native to that place, planted there in ancient times and for the first time. Only there do they fully express their qualities.

Some of these, such as Nebbiolo, have also acquired great fame at an international level, while others are little known, remaining in the shadow of more "famous" vines. But this does not mean they have inferior quality: they are vines that "are second to none".

With this selection I want to shuffle the cards a little and let you discover some authentic hidden pearls . From Sardinia to the Marche , passing through Piedmont : Bovale, Erbaluce di Caluso and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba.

The wineries proposed in the October 2020 selection are: Cantina di Mogoro , La Masera , Cantina Luigi Giusti .

We create wine itineraries to discover extraordinary wines, territories and cellars, telling their stories and secrets.

There is no point in hiding, not all wines of the same price are the same , which is why we collaborate with great sommeliers to select only niche wineries and offer our customers the wines with the best quality/price on the market.
