Mosole Winery - S. Stino di Livenza VEThe estate is located in Corbolone, a small hamlet of S. Stino di Livenza in the heart of the Lison-Pramaggiore denomination. The name Lison refers to the classic Tocai, a name we have lost since 2007. Other names used are Tai, in the rest of Veneto, and Friulano obviously in Friuli. The winery is a dream come true thanks to the determination of Lucio Mosole, who passionately cultivates 30 hectares of land and runs his company in an innovative way, respecting traditions. He produces local wines using Guyot systems, aging them both in steel and in wood depending on the best balance he wants to obtain.
Moletto Agricultural Company - Motta di Livenza TVWith extraordinary harmony, the Stival family manages this agricultural company which stands where the famous Bosco del Moletto once thrived, which has been known about since the sixteenth century. They cultivate lands suited to wine by ancient tradition, in the municipality of Motta di Livenza and in the Belfiore di Pramaggiore area. The planting density of the vines is around 3,000 plants per hectare in order to avoid root competition between the plants and bring them to bear the right fruit without forcing. This is the company's philosophy, against the current, but proudly in line with respect for the territory .
Mazzolada Agricultural Company - Portogruaro VEThe Mazzoladra estate cultivates 95 hectares of vineyards, all within the Lison-Pramaggiore DOC denomination. Most of the vineyards are newly planted, with a density between 3,500 and 4,500 vines per hectare and therefore, also in this case, not extreme. Password: respect for traditions , with the help of cutting-edge techniques and equipment, such as soft pressing, controlled temperature in winemaking and aging in barriques . Essentially clay-limestone soils give fruity and fresh wines, white and red, with interesting vinifications also of sparkling wines, from non-traditional vines, which we discover in the selection.
The selected wines
Hora Prima IGT (Chardonnay-Tai-Sauvignon) (14.5% vol) , MosoleThe search for balance is the basis of this important wine which presents itself to us dressed in a beautiful deep straw yellow. The nose is spicy and the sign of partial maturation in wood (Chardonnay) is immediately recognisable: hence white pepper and vanilla. This is followed by vegetal notes given by the late harvest sauvignon which veer towards an evolved floral. Soft and powerful in the mouth, it brings back notes of almond and toasting with a long savory and spicy finish. PAIRING: perfect with raw shellfish or medium-aged Montasio cheese.
Brut Millesimato VSQ (13% vol), MolettoA vintage sparkling wine, with a long stay in autoclave, from Pinot Bianco grapes obtained from clayey-limestone soils with important presences of Caranto which give strength and wonderful freshness. Light yellow in colour, lively and brilliant, it has a very fine and continuous perlage . The nose is fruity with evolved, tropical fruit, with clear notes of banana, ripe apple and mango. In the mouth it is soft, decidedly brut (sugar between 6 and 12 g/l), refined and elegant, it still gives us notes of freshness with particular fruity notes. PAIRING: wonderful as an aperitif or with fish and vegetables in tempura!
Lison Classico DOCG (13.0% vol), MazzoladaThe symbolic wine of the area , the classic Lison here in an evolved DOCG version, has a straw yellow color with gray and greenish reflections. An intriguing nose recalls flint and graphite: immediately great minerality but also fruity notes with hints of pineapple, peach and tropical hints of mango and papaja. The flavor is soft, velvety, ending with a characteristic almond aftertaste, as it should be in the great "Tocai". PAIRING: try it with fish risotto or light second courses based on white meat, or with salted sea bass!
Lison Eleo DOCG (Tai 100% ex Tocai) (14% vol), MosoleThe historic white that defines the territory : Lison, fresh, structured, tasty, excellent paired with fish. At sight it shows an intense straw yellow color and nuances of greenish yellow, very transparent. On the nose it expresses clean and pleasant aromas which open with notes of exotic fruit, then pear, apple and floral hawthorn followed by aromas of almond, broom and plum. In the mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a fresh attack and however balanced by alcohol. The finish is quite persistent with flavors of pear, apple and almond. This wine matures in steel tanks for 7 months. PAIRING: we suggest drinking it with unsalted fish or fresh Montasio cheese.
Pinot Bianco IGT Veneto Orientale (12.5% vol), MolettoIt is a white wine of great finesse, from the vine favored by the oenologist Giovanni Stival , and presents itself to the eye with a light straw yellow color and shades of greenish yellow, very transparent. The nose immediately imposes itself with notes of apple and hawthorn followed by aromas of broom, pear, lemon, pineapple, plum and a hint of peach. In the mouth it has a good freshness with the right alcohol content, it is light, with strong flavors with light notes of tropical fruit. The finish is persistent with flavors of pear, pineapple and apple. This Pinot Blanc matures for 7 months in steel tanks and then follows two months of refinement in the bottle. PAIRING: try it with first courses with fish and vegetables or with mozzarella in caprese!
Extra dry sparkling rosé (11.0% vol), MazzoladaThis is an Extra Dry sparkling wine made from Raboso and Merlot grapes vinified in pink, to be consumed throughout the meal or to toast on warm summer evenings . It has a pale pink color and fresh, fruity and floral aromas. Red berries mark the olfactory aspect completed by a floral that leads to slightly earthy notes of geranium. The flavor is creamy, sufficiently savory and still closes with notes of small red fruits. A special Rosé, obtained with the Charmat method, fermentation in an autoclave for 45 days at 15° C with selected yeasts. PAIRING: to drink throughout the meal, perfect with fried foods in batter or with ham and melon.
