We are a historic company from Montalcino, the property has belonged to the Ciacci family since the nineteenth century. Our grandfather Giuseppe began bottling the first bottles of Brunello in the 1960s, when it was still classified as a table wine: only in '67 did Brunello become DOC and in 1982 DOCG.
Before the success of Brunello, our father Giovanni - a young graduate - did not see the possibility of living off the company's resources and found work in Bologna. But his dream was to return here, to this land, to work at his home. That dream, however, was prepared by the grandfather, who in the meantime planted the first Sangiovese vineyards...
The adventure began in 1990, with the move to Tuscany, and our father taking the helm of the Tenuta di Sesta. Today we also support him, his children, Andrea and Francesca, and we have created a great team. Behind this success is our mother, who has always supported us and followed us on this journey.
The company includes 4000 olive trees, 30 hectares of vineyards, of which 13 are for the production of Brunello DOCG, 8 for Rosso di Montalcino DOC and the remainder for our two Rossi IGTs, Poggio d'Arna and Camponovo.
We deeply love Sangiovese and we try to best express, in our wines, all the character of this vine: we use large barrels so as not to cover its personality with the taste of wood and in the vineyard we work to obtain the maximum quality from our grapes, with very rigorous agronomic techniques.
Our aim? Elegant wines that are immediately recognizable as belonging to our territory.
